Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

We at Good Shepherd are fundraising and grant writing for items that will enhance our weekly services and also our outreach efforts. On our wish list is improved lighting in the sanctuary, security cameras, a projector and drop down screen for the Homework Center, and paint-friendly tiles so that we can hold art and art therapy classes in the Homework Center.
Spring Tide Rising: A Celebration of Appalachian and African-american Women

Music by award-winning African-American and Appalachian women composers performed by Constance Green, Sher Harris, Christine de Michele, Peter Kutt, and Aloha Smith. Quilts by Georgia Bonesteel of PBS fame. Monologues by women theologians and educators of the Carolinas by performance poet Noble Julz. A Gullah-Geechee and Lowcountry meal.
A Lesson in French Vocabulary, Grammar, and Gastronomy

Come learn about France’s Galette des Rois and Louisiana’s King’s Cake. Learn the vocabulary for discussing food from the francophone world, how to string words together so you can order or purchase foodstuffs, and make/sample a galette des rois while learning the fascinating story of this Roman-era bread turned Epiphany cake, all this while benefiting our Scholarship Committee.
